3 Awesome Idiots – A Review!!

3 Awesome Idiots – A Review!!
When I first heard about the movie theme back in October-November, the first question that came to my mind was how would a starcast of Aamir Khan, Sharman and Madhavan justify being students of an engineering college. Thankfully I didn’t utter...

Diwali Blockbusters!!! (Err.. Hopefully)

Diwali Blockbusters!!! (Err.. Hopefully)
I am really in the mood for some huge and loud crackers after the dilute acid we have been treated to, from the “Acid Factory” last week, not to mention the disturbance caused by “Do Knot Disturb” the week before. Of course,...

What’s Your Rashee?

What’s Your Rashee?
After the last pairing of Priyanka Chopra and Hurman Baweja in Love Story 2050, I was very apprehensive about watching What’s Your Rashee? But lo, each show was running to house-full crowds in every multiplex of the city. I couldn’t get...

Movies This Week – 18th September, 2009

Movies This Week – 18th September, 2009
I know it is Monday still, but I simply cannot wait for the weekend already. I am longing to unwind, to get away from classrooms and computers, and to get in front of a huge screen, watching a good movie, seated in a comfortable recliner. So to help...

Movies This Week – 7th August, 2009

Movies This Week – 7th August, 2009
Weekend. The word is synonymous with bliss for hard-workers (like me). And all we want to do on a weekend is chill out. Go picnicking somewhere, or spend a lazy afternoon inside an air-conditioned cinema hall. The movies released this week are Tere...

Twilight – Leaves You In A Trance

Twilight – Leaves You In A Trance
I’m going to take a sort of detour from my usual articles, to review not a movie, but a book – Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I know most of you have already read it (probably all the parts) or have watched the movie, but I would still like...

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar -> Stop Cribbing and Enjoy!
Rakhi Ka Swayamvar Hate her all you want, but you cannot ignore Rakhi Sawant. After grabbing headlines with all sorts of controversies including the “Mika-kiss”, her relationship with ex-boyfriend Abhiskeh, and a dress of one-rupee coins...

Movie Review: Kambakkht Ishq

Movie Review: Kambakkht Ishq
This weekend sees the release of the much-publicised piece of commercial Bollywood fluff, that is Kambakkth Ishq. Now, with hype as ridiculous as has been attached to this film, and with two of the biggest names in the industry, Akshay Kumar & Kareena...

Movie Review: New York

Movie Review: New York
Directed by Kabir Khan, of Kabul Express non-fame, New York stars John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Katrina Kaif, in what is arguably her most dramatic role yet. Now, being a release from the Yash Raj stable, their first one of the year at that,...

Yay! Friday! (26th June 2009) – “New York” and “Bolt!”

Yay! Friday! (26th June 2009) – “New York” and “Bolt!”
Well I am back with my updates of movies releasing every week (hopefully). I must confess that the producers’ strike had extinguished my enthusiasm for writing these articles, but I’m trying to re-kindle it anyway. So this week is very good,...

The Worst of Bollywood

The Worst of Bollywood
There is already a list of The Best of Bollywood 2009 by Sahil Rizwan. So, for this reason, and also because I enjoy making fun of things more than I enjoy singing songs of praise, I will give a list of the worst Bollywood movies ever (not restricted...

But Pappu Can’t Dance Saala!

But Pappu Can’t Dance Saala!
Last year gave us that very enjoyable movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, from which the song Pappu Can’t Dance became an anthem in colleges. It was in very popular use to tease nerds and rag newbies. Any bookworm was named Pappu. I love the song. It...

Great Songs But… Flop Movies

Great Songs But… Flop Movies
My decision to watch a Bollywood movie used to be is based on its songs. If the songs are great, then I most definitely will watch the movie. But I must admit  that just songs or music are not good metrics by which one can judge a movie. Here is a...

Have You Had Enough of “Saas – Bahu” Serials? Here’s Something New!

Have You Had Enough of “Saas – Bahu” Serials? Here’s Something New!
After spending two whole months at home doing nothing apart from a lot of “Doordarshan” (it’s a miserable life!), my T.V gyan has increased. Turns out that Doordarshan is way better than cable (or is it just a bored soul pacifying...

Movie Review: 99

Movie Review: 99
After a humongously long hiatus of 6 weeks, we finally had a new Bollywood release this week with ‘99‘. Now, to be perfectly honest, they could’ve released a remake of Deewar directed by one Mr. Gopal Verma today, and I still would’ve...

Movie Review: Meet Bill

Movie Review: Meet Bill
‘Meet Bill’ is another one in the long line of pseudo-releases that have come out in theatres recently. In an effort to plug the void created by the non-screening of anything from local shores, multiplexes have had to resort to widely rejected...

Movie Review: My Mom’s New Boyfriend

Movie Review: My Mom’s New Boyfriend
‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ was this weekend’s new release. Now, ‘new’ is a term used very loosely here, because it has actually been almost a year since this movie first released back in the United States. I think...

The Best Of Bollywood 2009

The Best Of Bollywood 2009
Almost five months into 2009, we have hit upon a welcome break from what has been a pretty average year for Bollywood. Most big budget releases, such as the Akshay Kumar starrer Chandni Chowk To China, sank without a trace, while even the movies made...
