Gaining weight as opposed to loosing it sounds like a simple thing to do. You just keep eating and eating until you reach the desired size. But although this advice sounds easy in theory it is not that simple.
While people who are naturally born plump and healthy gain weight relatively easily just by eating more and forgetting their exercise, those who have been blessed with a bony and lean figure right from birth find it very difficult to gain pounds and get a little more rounded shape than the stick they are frequently compared to. That is why, as much as there are weight loss tips, there are certain specific tips for weight gain too.
Here are some of the important tips to weight gain.
Right Workouts
Workouts and exercise should be a part of everyone’s life whether you wish to gain weight or loose it but it is actually the kind of exercise you do that makes the difference.
For those who want to gain weight, you would not want to lose much of the calorie during workouts. Therefore try and avoid those routines that do burn more calories like walking on the treadmill, exercise bikes, climbers, etc. Lifting weights is a good way to gain muscle weight which is also adding to your overall weight. Therefore instead of high calorie burning exercises concentrate on high intensity ones and those that help you gain muscle strength.
Right Eating
Many people who are lean and thin tend to eat three big meals a day and still retain their slim figure. This is because of their high metabolism rate and if you are one of them, you need to divide your food intake in such a way that you eat more calories and retain it than burn. This can be done by eating middle portion meals 5-6 times a day. If you know what your body’s calorie requirements are you can simply eat the food that gives you that many calories and also something extra.
Make fruits like banana, mango, chikoo etc. part of your regular diet. Eat lots of dry fruits and at least a handful of peanuts a day. Drink full cream milk and also use it to make one milkshake a day. Remember mid-size portions all through the day is a good trick to save many calories instead of three big meals.

Sleep well
Sleeping at a fixed time everyday and for a fixed duration helps your body get the ample rest it needs. Make it a point to sleep atleast 8 hours a day to gain weight as the slow metabolic rate help burn less calories.
Before sleeping, you can also drink a glass of milk or a protein shake. Because you are not actively burning the calories of this end of day drink, the calories are stored in the body and help in weight gain.
Home remedies
Those who have trouble gaining weight have another common symptom that indirectly affects their weight gain – eating with disinterest. Most are fussy eaters and avoid many kinds of food products. This problem can be solved by a simple home remedy. Before any meal take 1 to 3 grams of ginger, and sprinkle some salt on it. Now if you can, chew this ginger directly letting the juices work up your appetite or gulp it directly. This ginger helps aggravate your hunger making you eat properly.
Another good home remedy to gain weight is to grate and apple and a carrot in equal quantities and eat this salad immediately after a mid day meal. The two add bulk and give energy as well as high calories to the body without fat.
Hopefully these tips and tricks will work for you and give you the physical shape you desire.
