Performance - The Transition weighs about 440 kg meaning it is not too heavy and can carry a maximum of two people. It will operate on a single tank of gasoline using about 19L of fuel per hour to drive the propeller and will provide a mileage of approximately 15 km/l and a top speed of 110km/h. It is designed to fly at a maximum speed of approximately 185 km/h, a cruise speed of 172 km/h and a stall speed of 83 km/h. It is specifically designed to fly at altitudes less than 10,000 feet.
Dimensions and safety- The Transition is 2m tall, 2.3m wide and 6m long as a car. While flying, the height and the length remain the same but the wingspan becomes 8m. In the cockpit, every seat has a length of 48’’ at the shoulder. Coming to the safety part, the Transition should not be airborne in case of inclement or harsh weather. There is a full vehicle parachute made available and it is equipped with automotive crash safety features and modern glass avionics. Moreover, the four wheels of the Transition make it very predictable during take-off and landing.
Interior – In the interior of the Transition, the controls include a gas pedal, braking system, a steering wheel which is used on the road, a collapsible control stick used in the air, rudder pedals used for turning the vehicle when airborne and a lot of instrumentation to help a pilot in mid-air. The interiors have been refined with touch screen panels that change appearance depending upon whether you are in the air or driving on land.
