Body art is an art made on, with, or consisting of, the human body. The most common forms of body art are tattoos, body piercings, full body tattoo and body painting.
Sports face painting and body art also is a growing trend amongst fans at sporting events. People love to dress in outrageous costumes and show their teams that they are supporting them. World Body Painting Festival
Every year all over the world an incredible festival is celebrated called World Body painting Festival (WBF). It’s the largest bodypainting event on the planet. In 1998 the 1st Bodypainting Festival of Europe took place in Seeboden. The Event was unique in its form. It was a very small event with a lot of interested visitors, but it was nothing like the big event it is these days.
After the next period a bodypainting contest was the main part of the festival. One after another artists from all over Europe came to the European Bodypainting Festival, which it has been called since 1999. Because of the worldwide media coverage on TV and in magazines artists came also from other parts of the world to the festival. The event was renamed to the World Bodypainting Festival in 2003. It’s the biggest 
bodypainting event worldwide and every year the world bodypainting award is given in different categories. In the beginning there was no contest. The different categories were created also year by year.

eld every year in Seeboden, Austria, but expanded into South Korea at Asia for the first time last year with a bonus exhibition. This year this festival is being organized in 13-19 July 2009 at WBF’s Mecca Seeboden, Austria.

This reminded me of a festival here at IIIT in Hyderabad. It was named Sarang (I think, but I might have forgotten the name). One of the events was face painting competition. My trusting friend apparently thought that I was very gifted with the brush and let me paint his face into horrible shades! Of course, we didn’t win. But I did manage a decent tree and sun in the glass painting competition (well, the theme was global warming.. LOL). Didn’t win that either! ;)
