Cydia is an icon which appears on the Jailbroken iPhone it is also known as apps store where you can get information about system utilities, ringtones and themes etc. There are simple steps which will tell you how to use Cydia to enjoy full freedom of entertainment.
Hold your iPhone in your hand, to get the main screen of Cydia slightly tap on the icon. There is important and updates, FAQs, and lists of pay applications from the developer.
You will see “Section” at the bottom of the phone screen; here you will see packages or products divided into different categories and sections. If you want to see everything available over there, just press “All Packages”, but I would not recommend you to do so, because they will be overwhelming. This is better if you slowly browse every section and find the package which interests you.
The convenient way of finding your interest is going to “Search” button, which you can find on Cydia screen bottom. Tap the search option, which will take you to search box. Tap the search box to reach phone keyboard. Here, insert “BossPrefs” and push “Search”. You will see words starting from B and when you find BossPrefs, click on it.
Here, you can see the detail of Cydia, other packages and some additional information. For theme packages, you should go for “Screenshots” and to see the changes in version of the packages you should go for Changelog. If you want to install this app, there is install button just press it. To go ahead, you will have to confirm through confirmation screen.
After your confirmation, you will see installing process, be patient. After the installation is over, you will see Restart Springboard or Return to Cydia. If you return to your iPhone home screen, there you will find application or package installed. Look for my attached screen shot in the lower right corner of BossPrefs.
Now return to Cydia application and see the Manage button which includes three options. “Storage” will help you find how much space you have for more installation. “Source” will help you to find other the location where extra packages could be located by Cydia. There are some tips for extra information. If you want to add the extra sources, press “Edit”. “Packages” will inform you about what is now installed on your phone. Here maximum packages are installed by the jailbreak and you can remove them. You will also be informed about what to do next.
Under “Manage” menu, you will see “Packages”, press it. If you wish to delete something, just scroll down to the application you wish to delete. On the right side of the screen, you will see “Modify”, if you want to delete any application. Before deleting, it will ask for your confirmation.
I would recommend you that instead of browsing randomly, just select the application which is of your interest and learn about it. Cydia is the place where you can see your desired things happening and you can change them as your requirements.
